How Bodrum Beach Clubs Work

Most of Bodrum's coast is rocky, so the classic beach club is a wooden pontoon deck extending over the water, lined with sunbeds and daybeds. You reserve a bed (or a table for lunch), pay a per-person fee or minimum spend, and stay all day. Music builds through the afternoon; by 7pm the pontoon becomes a bar, by 9pm dinner service starts.

1. Maçakızı — Türkbükü

The mother of them all. Since the 1970s, Maçakızı has defined Türkbükü's Saint-Tropez reputation. Long lunch under white umbrellas, superb Turkish-Aegean cooking, and the peninsula's most people-watchable pontoon. Daybeds €200–€450 pp. Book 5–7 days ahead in summer.

2. Casa Botanica — Türkbükü

The stylish newcomer that has taken the crown from Maçakızı for a younger crowd. Tropical garden restaurant leading to a jetty club, excellent Mediterranean menu, sunset DJ sets that stretch to midnight. Daybeds from €180 pp.

3. Xuma Beach — Yalıkavak

The chic western answer — set below the hills of Yalıkavak with panoramic sunset views back toward Palmarina. Quieter than Türkbükü in daytime; the go-to Yalıkavak sundown spot. Reservations essential Friday–Sunday.

4. Mandarin Oriental Beach Club — Göltürkbükü

The most polished option — hotel-run, immaculately maintained pontoons, best service on the peninsula. Day-pass access for non-guests when capacity allows (€250+ pp). Excellent for families thanks to shallow, kids-friendly water.

5. Kumbahçe Beach Club — Bodrum Town

Central Bodrum's rooftop-pool-meets-beach-club, overlooking the castle. Younger, louder, more affordable. Best for a first-night arrival before you head to the villages.

6. Bianca Beach Club — Yalıkavak

Palm-fringed beach right on Yalıkavak bay, casual atmosphere, walkable from Palmarina. The choice when Xuma is fully booked or the wind is blowing on the other side of the peninsula.

• Reserve the bed and the lunch table together — many clubs won't seat you without both.
• Front-row (seaside) beds cost 30–60% more. Second row often has the same view.
• Weekdays are dramatically calmer than weekends, when Istanbul flies in.
• August is the loudest and priciest month; June and September offer the same water at 30% less.
