City guide

A traveller's read on Bodrum.

Bodrum is the Aegean's most considered coast — half ancient Halicarnassus, half private-yacht playground. Mornings begin in Yalıkavak's marina cafés; afternoons unspool on a chartered gulet between Türkbükü and Gümüşlük; nights end with sea bass cooked over coals and raki under bougainvillea. The town itself is compact and walkable; the magic lives in the bays you reach only by boat.

Luxury travel tips

What our hosts wish you knew.

Fly into BJV. Book yacht days a week ahead in July–August. Lunch reservations matter more than dinner ones. Cash tips travel further than card. The breeze (meltem) picks up after 2pm — plan boat departures for morning.
